Improvement Process: Mumbai Testnet Update

MetalSwap Improvement Process [BLOG]-3
The dynamic world of DeFi is ever-evolving, and as part of this journey, we bring you important updates and guidance for our ongoing UniV3 LP NFT Staking Testnet on MetalSwap. We are committed to providing the community with the latest information to ensure a smooth and enriching experience.

Upcoming Mumbai Testnet Deprecation: Key Actions and Dates

Scheduled Deprecation on April 13: As announced by Polygon, the Mumbai testnet is scheduled for deprecation on April 13th, 2024. Deprecation in the context of blockchain technology typically signifies that a particular network, protocol, or service is scheduled to be phased out or significantly modified. For Mumbai testnet, this means moving away from a previously established testing environment to potentially newer, and more advanced infrastructures - we'll surely cover this particular topic in the future.
This shift is indicative of Polygon's commitment to continuous improvement and adaptation in the fast-paced world of blockchain technology, but we must consider that this change might affect the functioning of some RPCs. For this reason we urge MetalSwap's community to be aware of this significant transition and be prepared to change the RPC if the current one can't load Mumbai's data as it did in the past.

Changing the RPC – Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Navigate to chainlist.org.

  2. Ensure the “Include Testnets” option is flagged.

  3. Search for the “Mumbai” network.

After that, from the search results, add one of the highest-rated RPCs to your wallet and re-test if the issue is now resolved.

Snapshot Date – April 12, 11:00 AM CET: The Moment of Record

To acknowledge and reward the efforts of our dedicated community, MetalSwap is set to capture a crucial moment in this testnet's timeline: a snapshot scheduled for April 12th, at 11:00 AM, CET. This is a significant event that marks a milestone in our ongoing testnet phase, because this snapshot is a comprehensive capture of all XMTXP points that each tester has earned.
As we expained in the past, having XMTXP tokens on Mumbai is the way to get MetalSwap Points and be rewarded with real XMT when the campaign will be finished!

Important Notice for Testers: NFTs not in range anymore

Check Your NFTs: as we’ve conducted some tests that altered the XMT price, possibly moving some NFTs out of their range and so leaving 'em composed of Test USDC tokens, with no - or not enough XMT because the price is raised from the beginning of the Tests. This means they might not be earning XMTXP as expected. This is how a not-in-range NFT will look like on MetalSwap's dApp:

Mini Tutorial – Managing Your NFTs:

  1. Unstake NFT: Remove your NFT from staking by clicking the "Inspect" button.

  2. Change / Remove Liquidity from it by clicking "Modify"
    2a -
Destroy NFT: When the liquidity is removed, the "Destroy NFT" button appears: by clicking on it and confirming the operation on the wallet, this process will dismantle the existing NFT, so that you are not left with an empty one.

  3. Get more XMT: Using UniV3 (always on Mumbai Testnet) or through our faucet, get some more Test XMT and USDC tokens.

  4. Create New NFT: Employ these assets to forge a new NFT that is within the effective range on Uniswap.

The new NFT can now be staked again to collect more XMTXP points, but don't forget to claim them before the snapshot date!

The Continuation of Testnet Operations

We will provide detailed information on the continuation of the testnet activities soon. Stay tuned for these updates to keep your strategies aligned with the latest developments and testnet phases.

Mumbai will close soon

...and this phase is crucial for not just stress-testing MetalSwap’s Smart Contracts, but also for adjusting your strategies to the changing dynamics of the DeFi sector. Your active participation and adaptability are what make MetalSwap a robust and community-driven platform.

Stay alert, stay informed, and let’s navigate these changes together. Your engagement and feedback are invaluable as we continuously work towards enhancing MetalSwap's ecosystem and its offerings in the DeFi space.

Happy testing, and thank you for being a vital part of this journey!
