Project Updates

Recall Pool Testnet

The main highlight of January is undoubtedly the release of the Recall Pool in its test phase. As explained in this article, this new pool aims to migrate XMT tokens from various layer 2 blockchains such as BNB or Polygon back to the ETH mainnet, the only place where they have governance power. Currently, a test of this new pool on the Mumbai network is underway and anyone can test it and report any bugs or errors. The testnet will also be incentivized, so participants can expect some rewards. So far, 5 Recall Pools have been launched on Mumbai and almost all have been completely filled by users!

R&D and Blog Post

As mentioned in the introduction, the team is working behind the scenes to improve the tool proposed by MetalSwap. The R&D articles aim to share with the community some of these research efforts carried out day after day.

MetalSwap Insight - Hedging Contracts Volume Overview

In this article, the team focused on analyzing the volumes of the derivative instrument of Hedging Contracts in both centralized and decentralized contexts. The research brought up very interesting data and highlighted, once again, how the derivatives sector is more developed within CEXs than DEXs.

MetalSwap's R&D - Chainlink Solution

As an introduction to the release of the Recall Pool in testnet, this article was published explaining the technical workings of this new feature available on MetalSwap. The "Chainlink Solution" article thus shows the operation of the CCIP protocol and Chainlink Automation. A post for our more technical users!

MetalSwap Knowledge - Discover RWA dApps

Another central theme in the development of MetalSwap is certainly Real World Assets, so it's necessary to stay updated on this front. The "Discover RWA dApps" article focused on analyzing the main decentralized applications in the field of Real World Assets. Projects such as Ondo.finance or RealT are analyzed, all with the goal of staying updated on this front.

Improvement Process: Proto-Danksharding

The last article published within the post and R&D category is related to Proto-danksharding. In the coming months, this update should be released by ETH developers and will surely also influence MetalSwap, as a dApp present on some ETH layer 2s like Linea and Optimism. The article starts with an introduction to this update and continues trying to understand the advantages it will bring in the long term to the entire Ethereum ecosystem.

Recall Pool on Mainnet

After the test phase that is running these days, the much-awaited Recall Pool will officially arrive. As mentioned, thanks to this pool, users will be able to perform a bridge back operation to the ETH mainnet paying minimal transaction costs.

Incentive Campaigns

Work is underway in creating and launching several campaigns aimed at encouraging the use of the dApp across the various layer 2s on which it is present. The goal of these campaigns is always to introduce MetalSwap to new users and increase the number of active wallets on the dApp.

MetalSwap is undergoing a phase of quiet development with the goal of becoming the leading dApp in its field. The community is showing continuous support and the numbers gathered from the Recall Pool testnet only serve to confirm this trend!
